Getting started

Adding accounts, switching between them, and the basics of the window.

How do I add a messenger account?
  1. Click Add account (the + at the bottom of the left sidebar — or the big button when the sidebar is empty).
  2. Pick a service — WhatsApp, Telegram, Discord, Slack, Microsoft Teams, Google Messages and more — or choose Custom for any other web messenger.
  3. Sign in on the service's own page inside MultiMessenger, exactly like you would in a browser.

WhatsApp links by scanning a QR code from your phone, the same way WhatsApp Web does — open WhatsApp on your phone, go to Linked devices and scan the code shown in MultiMessenger.

Can I add the same service twice — like two WhatsApp numbers?

Yes. Every account runs in its own isolated session, so a second WhatsApp signs in independently and never logs the first one out. Add the service again and sign in with the other number or profile — the same works for Telegram, Discord or any other service.

How do I switch between accounts quickly?
  • Click an account's icon in the sidebar.
  • Ctrl + 1 … 9 jumps to the 1st–9th account in the sidebar.
  • Ctrl + K opens the command palette — type an account name or an action.

Notifications

Toasts, unread badges, and keeping specific accounts quiet.

I don't get notifications
  1. Check Windows Settings → System → Notifications and make sure MultiMessenger is allowed to show notifications.
  2. Check Focus Assist — it silences toasts on a schedule or during full-screen use.
  3. MultiMessenger must be running to notify you — closing the window hides it to the system tray rather than quitting it, and that's fine, but a fully quit app can't notify.
What are the unread count badges?

MultiMessenger shows unread counts on the taskbar icon and per account in the sidebar. Badges are available for selected services only — some services don't expose an unread count through their web version, so those accounts won't show a number even though messages are arriving.

Can I mute or snooze just one account?

Yes — mute or snooze is set per account, so you can silence one busy group chat service while the others keep notifying you normally.

Calls & voice messages

Camera and microphone permissions for calls and voice messages.

Can I make calls from MultiMessenger?

Yes — services that support calling in their web version (such as WhatsApp and Telegram) work in MultiMessenger. The first time you start or receive a call, Windows or the app will prompt for camera and microphone access — choose Allow.

If a call has no picture or sound, check Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Camera and → Microphone and make sure desktop apps are allowed access.

I can't record a voice message

Voice messages need microphone access, same as calls. Allow the permission prompt when it appears, or check Windows Settings → Privacy & security → Microphone and make sure desktop apps are allowed to use it.

Premium & billing

What's free, what Premium adds, and purchases through the Microsoft Store.

What's free in MultiMessenger?

2 active accounts, notifications, switching, and both add-ons — Snippets (text expansion) and Scratchpad (notes next to a chat) — are free toggles, not premium-gated. A dialog appears if you try to activate a 3rd account.

I bought Premium, but the app says I'm on Free
  1. Make sure Windows is signed in with the same Microsoft account you used to buy. Open the Microsoft Store app → your profile picture, and check that MultiMessenger Premium shows under Library / Order history.
  2. Fully quit MultiMessenger — right-click the tray icon and choose Quit (closing the window alone only hides it) — then start it again. The licence is checked on this PC on every launch.
  3. Still Free? In the Microsoft Store app open LibraryGet updates, then restart MultiMessenger once more.
How do I cancel or get a refund?

Premium is sold through the Microsoft Store — we don't process payments ourselves and can't see or refund a purchase directly. Manage or cancel a subscription, and request a refund, at your Microsoft account's Services & subscriptions / Order history.

Troubleshooting

When an account freezes, signs you out, or you reinstall the app.

One account is frozen or won't respond

Right-click the account's icon in the sidebar and choose Reload. If that doesn't help, remove the account and add it again — this resets its isolated session and fixes almost every stuck account.

An account signed itself out

Some services expire their web session after a while — just sign in again like you would in a browser. For WhatsApp, the linked phone needs to come online every so often, or the linked session can expire; open WhatsApp on your phone if a re-link is needed.

Does reinstalling keep my accounts?

No — sessions are stored locally on this PC only, so reinstalling MultiMessenger (or moving to a new PC) means signing in to each account again. Nothing is synced or backed up to our servers.

Privacy & your data

What stays on your PC, and what never leaves it.

Does MultiMessenger read my messages?

No. You sign in directly with each service inside its own isolated web session — nothing passes through our servers. MultiMessenger loads the real web version of each service, like a dedicated browser window per account.

Where is my data stored?

On this device, isolated per account — each account keeps its own session so they never mix. Scratchpad notes are also stored locally on this device only and are never uploaded.

Still stuck?

In MultiMessenger open Settings → Help & support → Report a problem — it attaches diagnostics so we can fix things faster. Or email support@getmultimessenger.com; see the Support page for details. Support is provided in English.
